Escondido salon seeks volunteers to provide hair for
sick children
The Loft Hair Design & Skin Care is having a charity
challenge to benefit Locks of Love Hair “Raising”
Challenge.
The salon is looking to donate 200
inches of hair to Locks of Love, a non profit
organization that provides hairpieces for
financially disadvantaged children 18 years and
younger suffereing from long-term medical hair loss,
aqccording to
www.locksoflove.org. The salon was recently
named one of the “Top 200 fastest-growing salons in
the nation” by Salon Today Magazine.
“We wanted to do something to celebrate
our award, and since we had done some work with
Locks of Love in the past and really enjoyed working
with the organziation, we did some brainstorming and
came up with The Loft 200 Charity Challenge,” said
Shawna Cruise, founder and owner of The Loft Hair
Design & Skin Care. “There is also an onus on
January and February as being the months of change,
so we figured providing and opportunity, such as the
Charity Chanllenge, to the community might prompt
some people to create a new, fresh look for the
sping and summer seasons.”
The Salon will provide free haircuts for
those who have at least 10 inches of a naturually
colored hair to be donated. Dyed hair is acceptable,
but must match a natural hair color. For
