Everybody Must Get Stoned
GETTING A BEER dumped on your head is
generally associated with frat parties and dive-bar
New Year’s Eve celebrations. But in Escondido, it’s
the hot new spa treatment. At the end of summer, The
Loft Hair Design & Skin Care partnered with Stone
Brewing Company to create a new hair treatment to
revitalize wind-, sea- and sun –damaged summer ‘dos.
Stone Ruination IPA beer, made with the highest
amount of hops, is blended with rosemary and lemon
oils, vinegar and distilled water to create a
hair-refreshing rinse.
“Beer is known to remove buildup and
rinse away residue, chlorine and sun damage,” says
Shawna Cruise, owner of The Loft. “We know Southern
California summers are hard on hair, so we’ve
created a treatment that will banish the ‘ruins’ of
post-summer locks.”
The Stone Ruination IPA Volumizing
Rinse was announced during the North County brewer’s
10th
annual fund-raising celebration, benefiting such
charities as Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego and
the Boys & Girls Club of San Marcos. It’s available
through November (2006) for $25 as an add-on to
other spa services, or $50 as an a la carte
treatment that includes a pressure-point scalp
massage and a moisture reconstruction treatment. |
